Hurricane Harvey Relief

Clicking the banner above will open (in a new window) the donation page which Samaritan's Purse has dedicated to Hurricane Harvey Relief: samaritanspurse.org/donation-items/hurricane-harvey-relief/

Hurricane Harvey, a devastating Category 4 storm, hit the Texas coast on August 25. Many areas were battered, and Houston experienced catastrophic flooding. As waters recede, Samaritan's Purse U.S. Disaster Relief teams will fan out across affected areas and bring relief to homeowners in Jesus' Name. Specifically, our volunteers will tarp roofs, cut trees, and perform mud-outs—tearing out waterlogged walls and flooring and taking damaged belongings to the curb. Please keep families in Houston and along the Texas coast in your prayers.

To the Members of Fellowship Chapel,

Your generosity has been a blessing to each of our families. We sincerely thank you.

Blessings,
The families of the Jarrettsville Classical Conversations Community

We thank the Lord for the AWANA ministry at Fellowship Chapel and for all the volunteers who take part each week, teaching our children about Him. They had a wonderful closing program this past Wednesday!

We praise the Lord for the good weather He provided for Beautification Day and we’re so thankful for everyone who worked to make the grounds of Fellowship Chapel look beautiful.

Thank the Lord for Rev. Billy Graham and the ministry he had all over the world preaching the gospel. We are rejoicing with him that he is in the presence of the Lord hearing, 'Well done, good and faithful servant.'

Chafer Seminary is making some important changes and additions to their curriculum, starting with the fall term. For more information you can visit their website at this link: chafer.edu/curriculum.

Thank you Fellowship Chapel,

Blessed and appreciative in your confidence in us!

Love,
Ron (Powell) and True Life Staff

Thank you!

The Lord is working in amazing ways to change lives. I am so grateful for you and your part in giving me the privilege to share His truth with others. Please pray that He would lead those who need to know Him more intimately to True Life.

With Christ in you, the HOPE of glory,
Sean Husemann with True Life

Charles Clough has alerted us about two great reports on recent discoveries concerning 'digital addiction' among young people that parents need to check on. Digital addiction can be as dangerous to mental and physical health as drug and alcohol addictions. Find the reports here:

It's 'digital heroin': How screens turn kids into psychotic junkies, and

Dr. Marc Siegel: Smartphones really are dangerous for our kids (they put them at risk for suicide and more)

Chafer Seminary sends us this reminder:
As a supporting partner church, we just want to remind you that members of your congregation can take classes with us TUITION-FREE! The only expense is any required textbooks, and a $30 registration fee per term. All tuition costs are waived, because of your faithful support of Chafer and our school/ministry. Please note there is a limit of 2 classes at a time, per student. We encourage anyone interested in taking classes to visit our website, www.chafer.edu for more info, and get registered!

Pray for everyone affected by the recent Las Vegas shootings. Continue to pray for those in Florida, Texas and the Caribbean Islands who are trying to get back to normal from the effects of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. One of many ways you can help with the relief effort in Texas detailed here.

Extra copies of the handout, 'Jesus, Name Above All Names', are available on the Information Table. Take one for yourself or for anyone you would like to give it to.

Have you heard of our Church Partnerships?

CHAFER THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY Courses Available

Background: Chafer Seminary was begun by academically-credentialed pastors and missionaries who had grown frustrated with the theological chaos and shallowness in so-called evangelical circles, with the neglect of consistent Biblical instruction adequate to cope with the trials of living in a neo-pagan culture, and with the traditional financial and geographical obstacles to seminary level training within a student's home church location. The seminary, therefore, has worked diligently to make quality training available by internet technology so that students can remain in their local church community and immediately utilize their training in local ministry opportunities.

Academic Training Program: Students can enroll in courses for credit toward a Masters of Biblical Education degree or a Theological Masters degree if they have a college degree or for a certificate if they do not. Or students can enroll for personal enrichment and local ministry and can do so either for credit that can be used later or for simple auditing the course. Chafer courses are administrated in two ways: either as scheduled courses in the Fall or Spring semester, or as self-paced courses.

Currently for the Fall semester, the Christian Framework 1 course taught by Charles Clough, MS and ThM, is being offered that covers significant Biblical events from the creation to the reign of King David (Genesis to 2 Samuel), the doctrinal truths revealed in each event, the contemporary cultural opposition to those truths, and the nature of how these truths interlock into a powerful framework structure for developing and strengthening one's worldview.

This course will be either a scheduled type of course or a self-paced course depending upon the need of interested students. Pastor Kenley will be made aware of any Chapel student and the materials used in the course so he can pray for, encourage, and suggest ways to use this training in the ministry of the Chapel.

For further information, see the seminary website at http://chafer.edu/. Look under 'Home', 'Students,' and 'Resources.'

2018 Ministry Kick Off

September 10, Sunday:
Ministry Year Kick Off / Cookout

Each year we refocus our attention as a church body, thematically appropriating God's word in a new and fresh way. Last year our theme 'Jesus, Name Above All Names!' explored the many names of our Lord.

To celebrate the theme for each new year of ministry, we kick-off the year with an End-of-Summer Cookout featuring fellowship, food and fun. Hot dogs and hamburgers were provided by the Chapel. Those in attendance brought a side dish and dessert. We encourage you to make plans to stay for the picnic next year!
